Innovative options in the new Russian Travel Centre 2020 brochure

28 February 2020

The 2020 Russia/Baltics/Scandinavia & Eastern Europe brochure is now released, with new innovative options, responding to client research indicating that Australian and New Zealand travellers are increasingly seeking new experiences.

In response to demand, the 2020 Russian Travel Centre features some exciting new winter itineraries. For independent travellers wanting to expand their horizons, the Arctic & Karelia Winter Explorer tailor-made tour includes a hovercraft trip over the frozen Lake Onega to the tiny island of Kizhi, then continues north of the Arctic Circle by rail to Murmansk, experiencing a true Russian winter.

Traditional favourites are featured including: rail journeys, small ship river cruises, small group tours, along with and tailor-made stopovers in Russia and beyond destinations. Modifications to itineraries and programmes, based on Managing Director, Jayne Thomas’ personal travel experiences over the past year, have resulted in some old stayers replaced by new innovative combinations of Russia with the Baltics, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

Reflecting the maturity of the market, the new brochure features a greater focus regional and seasonal travel:

  • The wonderland that is Russia and the Arctic in Winter. New 8 day tours feature hovercraft adventures, snow sledding and the enigmatic Northern Lights
  • Georgia is showcased with some lovely new Small Group Tours highlighting the cultural, natural beauty and culinary delights of the area
  • The North Cape & Northern Lights, coach and rail combination from Helsinki to Tromso
  • Transylvania 4 day Private Tour
  • Bulgaria & Romania 14 day Explorer
  • Russian Highlights and the Baltics 17 day Small Group Tour
  • A luxury 5 day St Petersburg package, based at the historic Belmond Grand Hotel, with private sightseeing

The Russian Travel Centre remains flexible in its offerings, with many tailor made flexible options. Russian Travel NZ Manager, Nicholas Bloom, says demand for these destinations remains positive.
