Private Holiday

Departs Daily

Experience South Korea in style as your private guide and driver take you around the very best locations, sites, and experiences in South Korea on this 9 day itinerary. With a good mix of shopping, culture, and time to explore on your own, this holiday is a perfect way to explore this fantastic destination

Day 1: Seoul

Upon arrival in Incheon International Airport you will be met by a local operator and transferred to your accommodation in Seoul where you are reserved for three nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure to unwind from your travels.

Day 2: Seoul (B)

Dive into South Korean culture today as your guide picks you up after breakfast for a full day tour of some of Seoul’s historic landmarks. Your sightseeing begins with a trip to Gyeonbok Palace. Built in 1395, it is arguably the most beautiful of the Five Palaces of Seoul.

Bukchon Village is your next stop where you will explore a delightful heritage village featuring hundreds of traditional houses, many of which are today run as tea houses. Your next stop will be the Insadong Antique Shopping Alley, the largest market of traditional Korean arts and crafts and a perfect place to pick up a souvenir. Following a stop at Gwangjang Market which specialises in materials such as silk, your day ends with a trip to the North Seoul Tower. At over 230 metres tall and built atop the 243 metre high Mount Namsan, this tower offers an incredible view of the city.

Day 3: Seoul – Yongin – Seoul (B)

This morning you will be picked up and driven to the Korean Folk Village. Set amongst 243 acres of natural environment, this village features over 260 traditional houses, many of which were saved from surrounding districts so they could be relocated and restored here.

After returning to Seoul, the afternoon is devoted to shopping with your guide on hand to help you navigate Gangnam Street and Dongdaemun Market. The DDP Plaza is also visited and a guided architecture tour is available to book on site.

Day 4: Seoul – Gyeongju – Busan (B)

Following breakfast you will be met at your hotel and transferred to Seoul Train Station where you will take a bullet train to Gyeongju. Following lunch you will be taken to Seokguram Grotto, a stone temple built over a period of 24 years in the eighth century, and then on to Bulguksa Temple - famed around the world for its beauty. Later in the day you will be driven to Busan to check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 5: Busan (B)

This morning you will be met by your guide who will start your day with a trip to Nurimaru APEC House on Dongbaekseom Island and then onto the impressively state-of-the-art Busan Aquarium, which contains over 35,000 marine animals in over 36,000 square metres of facilities.

Following a lunch break you will be driven to one of Busan’s most photographed locations - the beautiful Yongguangsa Temple, which uniquely sits on the rocky shoreline. The temple was originally built in 1376 by the Buddhist teacher Naong, but was destroyed in the 16th century and remained in ruins until the 1930s when a monk named Ungang began rebuilding, eventually with the help of the rest of his order.

Your tour ends with some time at Busan Cinema Center (venue for the Busan International Film Festival) and Centum City for some retail exercise.

Day 6: Busan (B)

Following breakfast you will be transferred to the Gamcheon Culture Village, a colourful destination which is home to many artists, shops, and cafes. Next you will visit the port area of Busan, home to the Jagalchi Fish Market – a fascinating destination which gives insight into another aspect of Korean culture. Later in the day you will visit Igdae Park where you can take an optional boat ride to take in the scenery.

Day 7: Busan – Seoul (B)

Following a morning at leisure you will be transferred to the train station for the bullet train back to Seoul. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide who will take you to Namdaemun Market. This night market is the largest in South Korea and is full of goods that are mostly made by the store owners. After finding some bargains you will be transferred to your hotel for check in. The remainder of the night is at leisure.

Day 8: Seoul – DMZ – Seoul (B)

An unforgettable day today as you are taken on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea. Highlights include the 3rd Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and the DMZ Exhibition Centre. After a lunch break you will be taken to the War Memorial of Korea where you will learn more about the conflict.

During the evening you will get to experience the Nanta non-verbal performance, the most popular show in Korea’s history, before being transferred to your hotel.
