Dive into South Korean culture today as your guide picks you up after breakfast for a full day tour of some of Seoul’s historic landmarks. Your sightseeing begins with a trip to Gyeonbok Palace. Built in 1395 it is arguably the most beautiful of the Five Palaces of Seoul.

Bukchon Village is your next stop where you will explore the delightful heritage village featuring hundreds of traditional houses, many of which are today run as tea houses. Next on to the Insadong Antique Shopping Alley, the largest market of traditional Korean arts and crafts and a perfect place to pick up a souvenir. Following a stop at Gwangjang Market which specializes in materials such as silk, your day ends with a trip to the North Seoul Tower. At over 230 metres tall and built atop the 243 metre high Mount Namsan this tower offers an incredible view of the city.

An unforgettable day today as you are taken on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea since the ceasefire of the Korean war in 1953. Highlights of the tour include the 3rd Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and the DMZ Exhibition Centre. After a lunch break you will be taken to the War Memorial of Korea where you will learn more about the conflict.

During the evening you will get to experience the Nanta non-verbal performance, the most popular show in Korea’s history before being transferred to your hotel.

Today you will be transferred to Suwon, home of the Hwaseong Fortress. This impressive walled fortress was built in the late 18th century utilising the latest in military architecture from both the East and West. While here you will get to try your hand at traditional archery after a quick demonstration and instruction.

The next stop today is Jeonju Hanok Village, home to over 800 traditional Korean houses which contrast magnificently with the surrounding modern city. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check in and a night at leisure.

Following breakfast this morning you will be transferred to Mt Baekam to visit the stunning Baekyangsa Temple. Built in 632 this temple sits in the midst of beautiful mountain scenery made even more special during the fall season when the maple leaves turn red.

After a lunch break you will then visit Juknokwon Bamboo Garden before being taken to Gwangju Chungajangro Shopping Street – the ultimate experience of modern culture in Gwangju.

A day of tradition and natural wonders begins with a visit to the Botjae Green Tea Plantation before experiencing the traditional life of Naganeupseong Folk Village. This charming village contains a castle which is still home to approximately 100 families. Late in the afternoon you will then go to Suncheonman Bay Wetland Reserve to watch the sunset over this stunning natural area, home to over 140 species of birds including many rare migratory species.

This morning you will spend an hour trekking to Hyangiram Hermitage, a Buddhist retreat with breath-taking views over the South Sea. Following a lunch break you will get to experience the thrill of the Yeosu Maritime Cable Car where those feeling adventurous can opt for a “Crystal Cabin” which features glass floors allowing you to see the ocean far below. The final stop before returning to your hotel today is Odongdo Island. Reached by walking across a breakwater this island is famed for its wildflowers, in particular the camellias whose blooms colour the whole island from November until April.

Following breakfast you will be transferred to the city of Busan, home to an annual fireworks exhibition and the Busan International Film Festival. Once you arrive you will visit the port area of Busan, home to the Jagalchi Fish Market – a fascinating destination which gives insight into another aspect of Korean culture. Next you will be taken to Gamcheon Culture Village, a colourful destination which is home to many artists shops and cafes. Following check in at your hotel the remainder of the evening is at leisure.

A trip to the Gyeongju area today features many memorable sites including Seokguram Grotto, a stone temple built over a period of 24 years in the eighth century. Next on to Bulguksa Temple, famed around the world for its beauty. The afternoon includes the large ancient tombs of Daereungwon, the 7th century Cheomseongdae astronomical observatory, and Dunggung Palace before transferring back to your hotel for a night at leisure.

A morning of leisure, time for you to spend a last few hours exploring Busan before you are driven back to Seoul. Upon arrival in Seoul your guide will be on hand to help you with any shopping requirements at the Dongdaemun Market before you are taken to your hotel.

A leisurely morning before you are picked up and transferred to Incheon International Airport for your onward flight.
