Day 1: Madrid (B)

Arrival at Madrid Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of day at leisure

Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures and the status as an economic, financial, administrative and service center, with a large cultural and artistic heritage, a legacy of centuries of exciting history.

Strategically located in the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula at an altitude of 646 m above sea level, Madrid has one of the most important historic centers of all the great European cities. This heritage merges seamlessly with the city's modern and convenient infrastructures, a wide-ranging offer of accommodation and services, and all the latest state-of-the-art technologies in audiovisual and communications media. These conditions, together with all the drive of a dynamic and open society –as well as high-spirited and friendly– have made this metropolis one of the great capitals of the Western world.

Day 2: Madrid – Cordoba (B)

Take your hired car at Atocha Station and Cross Castille and Discover Cordoba!

Cordoba is situated in the interior of Andalusia where past and modernity blend in together. This thousand-year-old city, which has the World Heritage designation, is a living legacy of the different cultures that settled here throughout its history.

Not many places in the world can say they have been the capital of Hispania Ulterior (Further Spain) under the Roman Empire, and capital of the Umayyad Caliphate. This splendor can also be seen because of the intellectualism of this city of knowledge, where figures like Seneca, Averroes or Maimonides were born.

If you walk round the old quarter you will discover a beautiful network of alleyways, squares and white-washed courtyards surrounding the Great Mosque-Cathedral, which reflects the importance of the city in the Middle Ages, and is the symbol of the city.

Day 3: Cordoba – Seville (B)

Drive a few kilometers to the capital of Andalucia!

Situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville has a rich Moorish heritage, and used to be a prosperous port that carried out trade with the Americas. The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia are lively and busy. They treasure many constructions that have the World Heritage designation, and many districts are full of traditional culture, like Triana and La Macarena. Seville is a prominent business and service center in the south of Spain and has many hotels distributed all over the city which enable visitors to discover endless attractions. Museums and art centers, theme parks, cinemas, theatres and clubs are some of the many leisure options that a great city like Seville holds. Without forgetting, of course, the numerous terraces, inns and bars where visitors can practise one of the most deeply-rooted and tasty traditions in the city: "Going out for tapas".

Day 4: Seville (B)

Continue enjoying this wonderful city or visit Cadiz & Jerez!

Founded 3,000 years ago by the Phoenicians, Cádiz is the oldest city in Western Europe. The different peoples who settled here left an important cultural imprint, whose influence still remains in the character of the city's people. This peninsula, right on the Andalusian Atlantic coast, has been able to preserve an important historical legacy - the result of its commercial importance - together with excellent beaches and an exquisite regional cuisine. The Costa de la Luz, divided between the provinces of Huelva and Cádiz, also offers a multitude of destinations combining culture and leisure. And, for nature lovers, there is nothing better than touring the Doñana National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Jerez de la Frontera, well known for its wines, its horses and its flamenco, preserves a historic center that has been declared a historic artistic site. One of the noblest towns in Cádiz brings together the splendor of aristocratic palaces with the popular flavour of typically Andalusian houses. Features that are shown off every year at the celebration of the Horse Fair, declared of International Tourist Interest. This enormous offer of culture is enriched with the aromas of a regional cuisine in which the Denomination of Origin of Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda is outstanding. A visit to one of the city's wine cellars will help travellers to get a deeper understanding of its winemaking tradition.

Day 5: Seville – Málaga (B)

Drive to the beach and Costa del Sol, crossing “the white tows” route and Ronda!

19 inland towns and villages, each with its own history, although they all share common features: Alcalá del Valle, Algar, Algodonales, Arcos de la Frontera, Benaocaz, Bornos, El Bosque, El Gastor, Espera, Grazalema, Olvera, Prado del Rey, Puerto Serrano, Setenil de las Bodegas, Torre Alháquime, Ubrique, Villaluenga del Rosario, Villamartín and Zahara de la Sierra. The first thing that will strike you is how they look: everything is whitewashed, the streets and squares, walls and ceilings, churches, houses and mansions… The towns look like splashes of white paint scattered over the landscape, dominated by the rocky peaks of Sierra de Grazalema Nature Reserve, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The bright, intense light of Andalusia will accompany you on this journey among olive groves and forests of pine, holm oak, cork oak and Spanish fir, a native tree of these highlands. The area is a surprise for the traveller, just a few kilometers from the beaches of the Costa de la Luz, and ideal for visiting in spring and autumn, when the temperatures are milder. The route can also be followed on foot, by bicycle, or even on horseback.

You can choose from several different routes to explore the White Towns. A good starting point for an excursion is Arcos de la Frontera: its views of the mountain range and its old quarter are well worth a visit. The built heritage of the White Towns will surprise you, with their castles, courtyards, narrow streets and Gothic and Baroque churches, and so will their natural heritage. Caves and grottoes, canyons and waterfalls are everywhere, and the area is home to many protected species such as the Imperial Eagle, Golden Eagle, and Griffon Vulture.

Day 6: Málaga (B)

Experience Costa del Sol!

Why is the Costa del Sol one of the most touristic areas of Spain? Because of its beautiful weather and over 300 days of sun a year. Any time of year is good for visiting this area that stretches along 161 kilometres of coastline of the province of Malaga on the Mediterranean. Are you coming?

Spectacular beaches like Algarrobo, Guadalmar and Malapesquera, and viewing points such as the Balcón de Europa (in Nerja) will make your visit worth it. Plus, nature lovers will also enjoy places like the Nature Reserve Sierra de las Nieves and the Nature Reserve Sierra de Grazalema.

Day 7: Málaga - Grenada (B)

Drive a few kilometers for visiting the last Muslim city in Spain and its Alhambra Palace!

Granada has an unmistakable Moorish essence, due to the fact that it was the last city to be reconquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492. The gastronomy, craftwork and urban planning are influenced by its glorious past. Fountains, viewpoints and "Cármenes", houses surrounded by typical gardens of this city, create unforgettable corners in the city. It is no surprise that one of its old neighbourhoods, the Albaicín, has been awarded the World Heritage designation, together with the Alhambra and Generalife. It was an important cultural centre for many centuries, under the Moors and the Christians too, and nowadays it boasts a broad cultural and leisure programme. Film, music or theatre festivals are complemented with permanent or travelling exhibitions on all fields of knowledge. Old Renaissance palaces hold seminars, conferences and discussions, while the most innovative infrastructures are prepared for great events.
