Day 1: Istanbul
Welcome to Turkey. On arrival you will be met by a representative of our local agent and then transferred to your tour hotel where accommodation is reserved for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Istanbul (B)
After breakfast at the hotel depart for a guided tour of Istanbul. Visit Topkapi Palace Museum, residence of the Ottoman Sultans between the years 1453–1852 (excluding harem). Visit the Blue Mosque built between 1609 and 1616 and famous for its blue ceramic tiles. Your last stop will be at the renowned Spice Market.
Day 3: Istanbul – Anzac Commemorations – Ayvalik (B L)
After an early breakfast we drive to Canakkale. Following a lunch stop, enjoy a guided tour of Gallipoli Peninsula, Anzac Cove, Nek, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair. (This is subject to ANZAC cove opening hours and traffic conditions). Later in the evening return to the Penisula for the Dawn Service.
Notes on the Anzac Commemorations:
Today’s itinerary is very much subject to the final timings at the Gallipoli Peninsula. You will be updated on Thursday 23 April as to your programme for today.
There is no accommodation tonight. A reminder to ensure you have Turkish cash for any extras prior to your departure. We suggest you carry your passport at all times on this day for security reasons. A simple boxed breakfast is included today for tomorrow's breakfast
You will pass through various security measures before attending the official ANZAC commemorations. Please bring water bottle, snacks, sun hat and sunscreen. Please prepare to be patient during the security procedures.
There is at least a 7km walk to Chunuk Bair from the Main Dawn Service to the New Zealand Commemorations
Day 4: Anzac Commemorations - Ayvalik (D)
Spend most of the night on the beach and take part in the Dawn Service at 05:30am. Then have breakfast and join both international and national ceremonies. Afternoon drive to your hotel in Ayvalik for dinner. En route visit legendary Troy, the site where the Trojan War took place.
Day 6: Ayvalik – Kusadasi (B D)
Cross the Ida mountains to arrive at Pergamum. Visit the Acropolis. Overnight stay in Kusadasi.
Day 7: Kusadasi - Ephesus - Sirince – Kusadasi (B D)
After breakfast there is a short drive to Ephesus where you will have the opportunity to discover the rich history behind local handicrafts like handmade carpets and tiles. In the afternoon drive through the plains and cotton farms. Arrive at Pamukkale in time to enjoy the beauty of the lime cascades and visit ancient Hierapolis.
Day 8: Pamukkale - Istanbul
Today make the journey back to Istanbul arriving in the evening.
Day 9: Istanbul (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight. (B)

Please note we have requested a double bedded room but cannot guarantee one will be available. In Turkey double rooms are very limited. Please ask on check-in with the hotel to see what is available.
Airport transfers are included on days of the tour ex Istanbul Airport a surcharge will apply for transfers to or from Sabiha Gocken Airport.
If arrival or departure is not on the day or the tour transfers are only included if pre or post tour accommodation is booked.
Porterage for one suitcase is included in the tour price. Due to limited coach capacity the single bag should not exceed the dimensions of 30”x18”x10” and not weigh more than 50lbs (25kg).
On the night prior to the Dawn Service the time for departure will be confirmed when you are in Istanbul. Please ensure you take a hat, gloves, warm socks, scarf, warm coat etc as it will be cold on the Peninsula. It is also advisable to take a torch, rug, notebook and energy snacks for the day. Take a lightweight day pack to carry food boxes, water bottle, snacks etc – don’t forget these! Due to security measures there will be a long walk to the dawn service so please ensure you have good walking shoes. Toilet facilities on the Peninsula will be basic (port-a-loo style).
It is essential when registering for this tour that you are able to walk up to 7- 8 km unaided – it is a steep uphill walk between Anzac Cove and Chunuk Bair.
