Day 1: Perth  (D)

On arrival into Perth, you will be transferred to your city hotel. The rooms will be available from 3pm. Please meet your local tour guide and your fellow travellers for a welcome drink and dinner at 6pm in the hotel lobby.

Day 2:  Rottnest Island & Perth City Tour (B)

Your day in Perth, begins with boarding the Ferry to Rottnest Island, which is known worldwide to be the home of the happiest animal on Earth – the Quokka. Close relatives of Wallabies, these tiny animals are found all over Rottnest Island. A tour around the island takes you to some of Rottnest’s most spectacular locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse and the rugged West End. The tour will provide you with an insight into Rottnest’s cultural and historical heritage, diverse wildlife & fauna. Enjoy lunch on the Island before heading back to the Mainland. You will return by Ferry to the nearby port town of Fremantle, where you can visit the fascinating Shipwreck Galleries. Your city sights tour will continue towards Perth and you will visit King’s Park, a landscape of bushland and pretty wildflowers, offering astounding views out over the city’s skyline.

Day 3:  Indian Pacific Train: Perth — Kalgoorlie (B,L,D)

Your local tour guide will accompany you to the Perth Railway Station, where you will be assisted with check-in for your train journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Your local tour guide will not accompany you on the train, but the friendly train staff will lead you to your comfortable private cabin and assist you with everything. The journey begins as you pull away from the platform in Perth mid-morning. Get to know the creature comforts of life onboard on The Indian Pacific. Taste a modern Australian lunch as you glide through the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. After a relaxing afternoon onboard, a three-course dinner awaits you prior to your late evening arrival in the wild west township of Kalgoorlie.

Day 4:  Indian Pacific Train: Nullaboor Plain (B,L,D)

Awake to the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to watch the sunrise. Be captivated by the big blue skies and ancient stillness of the desert landscape, broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos. Waiting ahead is the charm of the once-thriving Nullarbor railway community – now ghost town – of Cook. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world. Another mouth-watering dinner is followed by relaxed conversation in the lounge before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 5:  Indian Pacific Train: Adelaide & Broken Hill (B,L,D)

On arrival in elegant Adelaide, you have the choice of a behind-the-scenes tour of the world famous Adelaide Oval or a coach tour of the city sights. This evening you will have a stop at Broken Hill, Australia’s silver capital and home to a unique artistic community.

Day 6:  Indian Pacific Train: Blue Mountains & Sydney (B)

Wake up in the picturesque Blue Mountains. See the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point and the views at Jamison Valley before completing your journey on the chartered NSW rail service into Sydney Central Station. Your local tour guide will welcome you on arrival into Sydney Central Station. Transfer to your accommodation, which is located 10min-walk to the Opera House.

Day 7:  Sydney (B,L,D)

This morning you will see Sydney in all its glory with an extensive sightseeing tour and luncheon cruise with your local tour guide. You will start by travelling through some of the city’s trendiest inner-city areas to the iconic Bondi Beach, before passing the beautiful Rushcutters Bay and Double Bay. Your tour will then bring you to Hyde Park, Parliament House and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. This unique ‘chair’ and landmark is in fact an exposed sandstone rock, cut into a bench shape in 1810 by convicts as a gift to Governor Macquarie’s wife. It’s not only a fascinating landmark but also the perfect spot for a photo of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The sightseeing tour will then lead you on to a luncheon cruise around the stunning Sydney Harbour – The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps you want to Climb the Harbour Bridge. There is no better way to say Good-bye with a Farewell Dinner at Sydney Feast, which is located 82 floors above the city, in the iconic Sydney Tower. It offers spectacular, 360-degree views of Sydney and the Harbour.

Day 8:  Sydney (B)

Your tour will conclude today following breakfast and your transfer to Sydney Airport.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of booking. The balance of the tour price is required 65 days prior to your travel date. If you book inside 65 days, full payment will be required at the time of booking. Payment can be made by bank transfer. We also accept Visa and Mastercard at an additional fee of 3.1%. If you cancel between 33 and 65 days prior to your travel date 60% of your tour cost will be charged. If you cancel between 10 and 32 days prior to your tour departure you will be charged 75% of your tour cost. Cancellations within 10 days of departure will incur a 100% cancellation charge.
