Day 1: Strasbourg

Passengers are welcome to board our ship in Strasbourg starting at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. As we enjoy dinner, our ship will depart for Basel. Relax with an evening of entertainment on board as our ship cruises through the night.

Day 2: Basel

We'll spend the morning cruising the Grand Canal of Alsace until we reach Basel right before lunch.
Hiker's program: A hike in the foothills of Blauenberg or along the French-Swiss border. You will love the magnificent walking paths and the wooded and rolling hills which offer some really great views. (Duration approx. 2/3 hours, from about 120 to about 200 metres altitude difference, 8.5-10 km or 5¼-6¼ miles.)
Non-hiker's program: Join us for an excursion to the Rhine Falls, one of the most spectacular sites to visit in Switzerland. You'll also discover the Laufen Castle, and its impressive view overlooking the rumbling falls.
Tonight's dinner will be followed by an evening of dancing on board. During the night, our ship will leave for Breisach.

Day 3: Breisach

Hiking program: Hike through the Kaiserstuhl hills (full day - picnic included.) Two beautiful hikes along the once-volcanic Kaiserstuhl hills reveal the natural wonders within a protected area. You'll also experience some of the best views of the surrounding vineyards and the Rhine. (Length: Approx.7h, including 4.5 hours of hiking and 885-foot altitude difference, 8.6 miles)

Non-hiking program: Take advantage of some free time to explore Breisach, a former Celtic and Roman settlement that is now a lovely German city along the Rhine. In the afternoon, we'll visit Colmar and the Unterlinden Museum. Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board.

Day 4: Breisach - Rhinau

Relax on board or join in on a few of our planned activities as we spend the morning cruising to Rhinau.
Hiker's program: Hike to the Château de Bernstein and Ortenbourg Castle. Great hike across the Vosges Mountains, leaving from the old city of Dambach-La-Ville and its magnificent St. Sebastien Chapel. After climbing through the forest and following the summit, we'll arrive first at the Château de Bernstein followed by Ortenbourg Castle - two medieval architectural masterpieces. (Length: Approx. 3 hours, 1082-foot altitude difference, 6.2 miles)
Non-hiker's program: Join us for an excursion along the Wine Route in Alsace. You'll discover the region's wines and its seven grape varieties while traveling through picturesque villages with half-timbered houses, enchanting fountains and, of course, wine presses. We'll stop at a local cellar for wine tasting*.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board.

Day 5: Strasbourg

The ship will leave early this morning for Strasbourg.
Hiker's program: Urban hike through Strasbourg. During this hike, you'll be able to admire the historic city of Strasbourg and all its architectural treasures. We'll hike along part of Strasbourg's Ceinture Verte (greenway), a former defense system for the city that has been transformed into natural spaces that travel along the waterways. (Length: Approx. 4 hours, 0-foot altitude difference, 4.9 miles)
Non-hiker's program: Tour on foot of the Petite France neighborhood and a visit to the Strasbourg Cathedral. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Petite France is undoubtedly the most beautiful section of Old Strasbourg. The neighborhood contains marvelous examples of half-timbered houses built at the water level. We'll then visit the Strasbourg Cathedral, widely considered to be among the finest examples of high-Gothic architecture.

For everyone: We'll spend the afternoon traveling along the picturesque villages routes in northern Alsace. We'll visit Seebach, one of the most picturesque villages in France. This typical Alsatian village has retained much of its traditional architecture. We'll then continue on to Cleebourg, where we'll visit a local wine cellar and taste* the unique wines of the region together.
Afterwards, we'll return on board. Tonight will be our gala dinner and evening.
