This small group tour takes you on a journey of discovery through Andalusia – a land of wonders where Muslim, Jewish, Gypsy and Christian civilizations coexisted for many centuries. Start in the capital city Madrid and continue to Cordoba, a unique UNESCO world Heritage site where the Old Jewish Quarter – La Juderia, has nestled for centuries around the Grand Mosque, itself rebuilt & reconverted through the years from Mosque to Cathedral and back again. Visit effervescent Sevilla and Granada – the jewel of Andalusia with its narrow streets and magnificent Alhambra. Before returning to Madrid, conclude your tour with a visit to the medieval city of Toledo known for its extensive cultural & artistic heritage including works of famous painter El Greco hidden in cathedrals, Churches & museums around the city.

Accommodation

Day 1: Madrid

Arrival transfer to your hotel. Evening welcome drink and orientation session at the hotel.

Day 2: Madrid (B)

Morning tour of Madrid. Discover the medieval origins of the city – see the Arabic Fortress at Barrio de la Moreria, the courtesan Baroque district of the Hapsburgs, Puerta del sol, Plaza Mayor & Plaza de la Villa, Cibeles, Neptuno Fountains, and Puerta de Alcala. Visit the royal Palace and continue through modern Madrid. See Gran Via, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla & Parque del Oeste, the emblematic Las Ventas Bullring and the Satiago Bernabeu Football Stadium.

Day 3: Madrid – Cordoba – Sevilla (B D)

Morning departure to the Andalusia region through the land of Don Quixote and vast vineyards. Cross the natural border of “Despenaperros” and arrive to Cordoba. Visit the impressive Mosque and stroll through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. Continue to Sevilla for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Sevilla (B D)

Morning city tour of Sevilla including Santa Cruz Quarter, Maria Luisa Park & Spain Square. Visit the Cathedral – the second largest in the Catholic world after St.-Peter’s in Rome.

Optional Flamenco tour.

Day 5: Sevilla – Granada (B D)

Morning departure to Granada – the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms up to 1492. Visit the world famous Alhambra (Red Palace) and Generalife Gardens.

Optional Gipsy Flamenco show at Sacromonte Quarter.

Day 6: Granada – Toledo – Madrid (B)

Morning departure to the Imperial City of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage site with an extensive cultural and monumental heritage due to the historical coexistence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish populations. Take a city tour including the most important monument, the narrow streets and the famous “Damasquinado.” Overnight in Madrid.

Day 7: Madrid (B)

Departure transfer to the airport.
