Day 1: Edinburgh(B)

Welcome to Scotland. Arrive at Edinburgh Airport. Transfer to your hotel under your own arrangements. Check in after 3pm. Free time to explore the city at your leisure this afternoon.   This evening meet your fellow travellers in a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Edinburgh (B)

Today meet with your driver and English-speaking guide for a panoramic city tour. Edinburgh is one of the world’s finest capital cities, because of its cultural diversity and impressive history The medieval streets run through the whole city telling their
own story about the 1 000 year old traditions and myths of Edinburgh. Next
visit Edinburgh Castle. This afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3: Edinburgh (BLD)

This morning visit Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by the Da Vinci Code movie. Founded in 1446 Rosslyn Chapel is a unique building with its mysterious carvings and the beauty
of its setting. Visit Abbotsford House located on the banks of the River Tweed, and sits at the heart of the landscape that inspired the poetry and novels of its creator, Sir
Walter Scott. This is a house that the writer himself designed and as such uniquely embodies a physical representation of the Romantic Movement that he helped to create.

Day 4: Edinburgh - Inverness Area  (BD)

Today you will depart your hotel in Edinburgh and travel to the Highlands. First visit Stirling Castle situated on a volcanic outcrop guarding the lowest crossing point of
the River Forth It is a great symbol of Scottish Independence and a source of enduring national pride. The castle’s long, turbulent history is associated with great figures from
Scotland’s past, such as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots. Next will be a visit to one of many whisky distilleries where you will learn about the process of milling, mashing, fermenting and distilling single malt whisky. Continue
to your hotel and check in.

Day 5: Inverness Area (BD)

This morning experience a cruise on Loch Ness where you will have the opportunity to spot Nessie! Next visit Urquhart Castle which offers a taste of the Highlands at their most dramatic. Discover 1,000 years of drama, take a glimpse of medieval life and see
stunning views over Loch Ness from the ruins of the greatest castle in the Highlands.
Spend the afternoon in Elgin and visit the ruins of Elgin Cathedral , one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval buildings.

Day 6: Inverness Area - Glasgow (B)

Today depart the Highlands and head south to Glasgow. En route visit Culloden Battlefield, scene of the 1746 Battle between the Jacobite and British armies. As the last battle being fought on British soil, Culloden marks the beginning of the dismantlement of the structures of Highland society. Then visit Highland Folk Museum that brings to life the domestic and working conditions of earlier Highland peoples. Continue to Glasgow

Day 7: Glasgow (B)

This morning starts with a Glasgow City Tour. Discover Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, with a panoramic city tour. From the magnificent St Mungo Cathedral to the People's Palace and Glasgow Green, explore Glasgow’s rich past as a religious centre and one of the most important industrial cities in Britain. Visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery, one
of Scotland’s most visited attractions. It is a magnificent building with 22 themed, state of the art galleries displaying an astonishing 8,000 objects.

Day 8: Glasgow (B)

After a final breakfast, transfer to Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport for your departure flight home under own arrangements.

Inverness Area



A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of booking. The balance of the tour price is required 35 days prior to your travel date. If you book inside 35 days, full payment will be required at the time of booking. If you cancel between 18 and 34 days prior to your travel date 60% of your tour cost will be charged. Cancellations within 17 days of departures will incur a 100% cancellation charge. All cancellations must be acknowledged in writing.

Innovative Travel recommends purchasing travel insurance, even when travelling within New Zealand.

Flights are the responsibility of the passenger and Innovative Travel takes no responsibility for costs involved for any changes to flights that might be required due to necessary amendments in itineraries.

Note: Wheelchair passengers

Some activities are not suitable for wheelchair passengers and any passenger requiring wheelchair assistance must be accompanied by a fellow traveller that is capable of assisting with all mobility requirements. Maximum of one wheelchair per group, the wheelchair must be fully collapsible. Further wheelchairs may be allowed subject to group size.
