Highlights:
  • Follow in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you traverse the Wadi Rum moonscape in a jeep
  • Pass through the Siq and marvel as the Rose Red City of Petra emerges in front of your eyes
  • Experience the unique sensation of a float in the Dead Sea

Day 1: Amman

Welcome to Jordan. Upon arrival at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative, PRIOR to immigration, who will assist you with arrival formalities including your pre-arranged visa. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred to your hotel in Amman.

Optional evening in Amman (day 1 or day 2-supplement applies): Introduction to Jordanian Cuisine
Join a hands-on cooking class at Beit Sitti, a charming family-run restaurant in Amman. Learn to prepare traditional Jordanian dishes using fresh, local ingredients, guided by expert chefs. After cooking, savour your homemade meal in a warm, inviting setting. This unique experience blends culture, history, and delicious flavours for an unforgettable evening.

Day 2: Amman (B)

Today, explore the Roman ruins of Jerash and Ajloun. Depart your hotel in Amman to visit Jerash, widely regarded as one of the most beautifully preserved cities in the world, nestled at the bottom of a green valley. Start the tour from the “South Gate” into the “Oval Plaza”, continue your way down through the “Street of Columns” until you reach the “Arch of Triumph” built on the honour of Emperor Hadrian in 129 AD. This afternoon, visit the castle of Ajloun located on a high peak overlooking the city of Ajloun. According to Salah-Eddin biographer, this castle was built between 1184 and 1185 by one of the Salah-Eddin nephews, to oppose the Crusaders castles of Kerak and Shobak. Transfer back to Amman later this afternoon.

Option: Replace the afternoon visit to Ajloun with a walking tour of Amman
This afternoon return to Amman for a walking tour of the bustling downtown area, where you’ll explore lively souks, historic landmarks, and the famous Rainbow Street—a hub of cafés, shops, and street food delights. Savour local delicacies as you soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
Alternative Amman sightseeing option: Visit the King Hussein Royal Automobile Museum (Open Sunday-Thursday).

Day 3: Amman – Madaba – Mt Nebo – Wadi Rum (BD)

This morning, depart Amman and journey south along the King’s Highway, one of the world's oldest trade routes, offering breathtaking landscapes and rich history. Your first stop is Madaba, known as the "City of Mosaics." Visit St. George’s Church to see the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, the oldest known representation of biblical geography. Continue to Mount Nebo, the revered site where Moses is believed to have seen the Promised Land before his passing. Enjoy panoramic views stretching over the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Finally, arrive in Wadi Rum, a breathtaking desert landscape known for its dramatic red dunes and towering sandstone mountains. Experience an unforgettable evening under the starry desert sky.

Day 4: Wadi Rum - Aqaba (B)

Wake up in the heart of Wadi Rum and experience the serenity of the desert at dawn as the rising sun casts a warm glow over this breathtaking landscape. Following breakfast, embark on a 2-hour 4wd safari, retracing the paths of Lawrence of Arabia and his Arab liberation army. Journey through the otherworldly terrain, where towering rock formations, deep canyons, and ancient petroglyphs reveal the stories of the past. Feel the thrill of traversing the soft sand dunes, stopping to admire natural rock bridges and panoramic viewpoints. After your desert adventure, travel south to Aqaba, Jordan’s only coastal city. Nestled along the Red Sea, Aqaba boasts crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and bustling markets, offering a refreshing contrast to Wadi Rum’s rugged beauty. Relax on the beach or explore the lively town.

Day 5: Aqaba - Petra (B)

Spend the morning at leisure in Aqaba. For those interested in marine life, there is the option of a snorkelling or diving trip to Aqaba’s renowned coral reefs (supplement applies).
This afternoon, depart Aqaba and travel north to Petra, passing through stunning desert and mountain landscapes. En route, take a short photo stop at Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a hidden Nabataean site with carved rock facades similar to Petra. Wander through its narrow passageways and ancient dwellings, once a vital stop for traders. After this glimpse into Nabataean history, continue to Petra, where you can settle in and prepare for your exploration of Jordan’s most famous archaeological wonder.

Day 6: Petra (B)

Begin your day exploring Petra’s breathtaking rock-cut tombs and temples. Enter through the narrow Siq, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs. Your first glimpse of Petra’s wonder is El Khazneh (The Treasury), an ornate masterpiece carved into red sandstone. With a local guide (2-3 hours), discover more of the ancient Nabataean city, including the 3,000-seat Roman-era theatre and the grand Palace Tomb. Learn about the industrious Nabataeans, who settled here over 2,000 years ago. After the guided tour, spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Hike to the Monastery (Al-Deir) for stunning views, explore the Royal Tombs, or wander Petra’s ancient pathways at your own pace. Capture the beauty of the rose-red city as the light shifts throughout the day.

Optional (supplement applies): For a magical experience consider returning in the evening for Petra by Night, a candlelit spectacle at the Treasury.

Day 7: Petra - Kerak – Dead Sea (B)

Depart Petra this morning and journey north toward the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Along the way, stop at Kerak, home to the imposing Kerak Crusader Castle. This 12th-century fortress, built by the Crusaders, offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval history, with its labyrinth of stone passageways, towering walls, and breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys. After exploring Kerak, continue to the Dead Sea, a natural wonder known for its incredibly salty waters and therapeutic mud. Spend the afternoon floating effortlessly in its mineral-rich waters or indulging in a rejuvenating mud treatment. Take in the stunning desert scenery as the sun sets over the shimmering shoreline, creating a peaceful and unforgettable experience. Overnight at the Dead Sea, where you can relax and unwind.
