When to Visit

Best Time to Visit Zimbabwe
July and August are peak travel months, particularly for visiting Victoria Falls in both Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Summer (October–April): Days are hot and generally sunny, with the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures can reach 30°C, while nights cool down to around 14°C. Low-lying areas like Kariba, Victoria Falls, and the Zambezi Valley are warmer year-round. The rainy season typically runs from November to March, though the Eastern Highlands remain damp for much of the year.

Winter (May–September): Days are dry, sunny, and cool to warm, but temperatures drop sharply in the evenings. Daytime highs average 20°C, with nighttime lows occasionally reaching 5°C. While exceptionally cold spells are rare, it’s wise to pack warm clothing just in case.
