Career in the Travel Industry
With over 30 years in wholesale travel and more than 25 years with Innovative Travel, I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside both the industry and the company. Starting as a Travel Consultant in 1995, I returned to Innovative Travel in 2003 after a few years in Auckland and went on to spend more than 15 years as Groups Manager. The industry saw significant change during and after Covid, and in recent years I have gradually transitioned into the role of Product Manager. I enjoy building on the strong relationships Innovative Travel has developed with our long-standing partners over the years and bringing that experience into creating and shaping travel products for our clients.
Recent most interesting trip
Most recently, Cambodia has been one of my most memorable trips. A cruise down the Mekong with CroisiEurope was absolutely stunning — from celebrating New Year’s Eve in Phnom Penh to witnessing the incredible evening bat exodus at the Battambang Bat Caves, which felt like watching a real-life movie scene unfold. Of course, time in Siem Reap was unforgettable, before heading out to one of Cambodia’s islands where life felt refreshingly simple — reminiscent of Thailand 20 years ago. Relaxed, authentic and very much living the dream.

Egypt & Turkey - As every time I return, there is more to discover with the history, landscapes, and hospitality. It was exciting to recently view the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Cairo.
Tunisia - As it has the most spectacular beaches, scenery and landscapes. Bordering on the Sahara Desert, you see the villages and desert used in the Star Wars movies, and it has a fabulous mix of French/Arabian people.
