Founded in 1990 by seasoned traveller Robyn Galloway, Innovative Travel was inspired by her journeys through the Middle East and Mediterranean during the 1980s. Recognising the importance of safety, security, and authentic local knowledge, particularly from the perspective of a female traveller, Robyn established the company as a specialist boutique travel operator dedicated to meaningful and immersive travel experiences with safety as a cornerstone.

Over the past 36 years, Innovative Travel has developed trusted, long-standing relationships across its destinations, creating a strong network of professional and in-country partnerships. From Egypt, Türkiye, Jordan, Morocco, and Greece to destinations throughout Asia including India, China, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, the company is committed to delivering culturally enriching journeys that foster international understanding and human connection.

As a socially responsible travel company, Innovative Travel places strong emphasis on in-depth experiences, cultural respect, and personalised service. This philosophy continues to guide the company today, supported by a dedicated team who share Robyn’s vision for thoughtful and transformative travel.

Beyond the travel industry, Robyn has also contributed extensively to the wider business community, serving for six years as a Board Member of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce and currently holding the position of Chair of the New Zealand Türkiye Business Council.
