Steve
Sales Consultant
My experience in travel & tourism extends over 30 years, with experience in wholesale and retail travel, tour operations, education, and hospitality. Past roles include management, sales, product development, tour guiding and training of students and travel consultants. I have also specialized in adventure and group travel at various times. The industry has grown significantly and seen many changes since I began, but ultimately, it's still about people. My experience brings perspective and an understanding of the dynamics of the industry, enabling me to help travel agents and their clients plan and deliver amazing travel experiences.
Along the way I've visited 60 countries, in personal and professional capacities, and lived and worked in the UK and Vietnam. My travels have been a mixture of independent journeys, group and private tours, cruises and short breaks, from budget to 5 star (lucky me). Adventure is still a passion; safaris in Africa, a remote Amazon forest lodge, the Galapagos islands, trekking in Nepal are all highlights.
Recent most interesting trip
My last holiday in Italy was fantastic. We spent 4 weeks travelling through Sicily, southern and northern Italy, by train, car and vespa. Despite speaking only basic Italian I still managed to engage with the locals easily; they are so relaxed and welcoming. I have been to Italy numerous times but on the last trip I really felt "la dolce vita".
