City Break: Marvellous Amalfi 3 Days

Depart Rome by air-conditioned coach and travel south through the picturesque Italian countryside towards the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Along the way, admire dramatic coastal scenery where rugged cliffs, sparkling Mediterranean waters, citrus groves and colourful villages create one of Italy's most celebrated landscapes.
Arrive in Sorrento, a charming coastal town renowned for its narrow laneways, artisan ceramic workshops and historic churches. Stroll through the lively centre and gain insight into one of the region's most famous products during a limoncello tasting at a local distillery.
Continue to Pompeii, one of Italy's most remarkable archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accompanied by an expert archaeologist guide, explore the remarkably preserved streets, homes, temples and public buildings buried beneath volcanic ash following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The city's frescoes, bakeries and marketplaces provide a fascinating glimpse into daily life during the Roman Empire.
Following the guided visit, travel along the scenic Sorrentine Coast to Amalfi. On arrival, check in to your hotel for your two-night stay. Evening at leisure.

Today is free to discover Amalfi at your own pace. Once the powerful capital of a Maritime Republic, Amalfi is rich in history and coastal charm. Wander through its atmospheric streets, visit the impressive cathedral, browse local boutiques and artisan workshops, or relax beside the waters of the Gulf of Salerno. Opportunities are available to sample local specialties, including the region's renowned limoncello.

After breakfast, the morning is at leisure for further exploration of Amalfi or some last-minute shopping. Mid-afternoon, depart for Pompeii before continuing north to Rome. The tour concludes upon arrival in Rome this evening.
