Day 1: Tunis

Welcome to Tunisia. On arrival in Tunis you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey, perhaps unwinding at your hotel or taking a gentle stroll along the Mediterranean coast. Overnight in Tunis.

Day 2: Tunis - Carthage & Sidi Bou Said - Tunis (BL)

After breakfast, begin the day with a guided exploration of the capital. Walk along Avenue Habib Bourguiba, the city’s lively main boulevard, and browse the colourful central market brimming with fresh produce, spices, and seafood. Continue into the UNESCO-listed Medina of Tunis, a labyrinth of souks, mosques, and historic buildings.
Enjoy a fresh fish and seafood lunch in Gammarth before visiting the ancient ruins of Carthage (UNESCO), once a powerful maritime empire. Conclude the day in the picturesque white-and-blue village of Sidi Bou Said, known for its charming alleys and sea views. Return to your accommodation in Tunis. Dinner at leisure.

Day 3: Tunis - Kairouan - Tozeur (BL)

Journey inland to the holy city of Kairouan (UNESCO), where the call to prayer echoes through the Great Mosque and history lingers in quiet courtyards. Wander past the Aghlabid pools and through the medina, where time seems suspended. Travel on through Gafsa into Tozeur, where palms rise from desert sands and the horizon feels infinite.

Day 4: Desert Oases & Star Wars Film Sets (BL)

After breakfast, set off by 4x4 to explore the stunning mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides, where palm groves and waterfalls are framed by dramatic desert canyons. Return to Tozeur for a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride through the palm-filled oasis, followed by lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, head out again by jeep to visit the Star Wars film set in Nefta, where iconic scenes from Tatooine were brought to life. Return to Tozeur. Dinner at leisure.

Day 5: Tozeur - Chott el Jerid - Matmata - Tataouine – Djerba (BL)

Depart Tozeur after breakfast, pausing for photographs at the shimmering salt lake of Chott el Jerid. Continue to Douz, the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you may opt for a camel ride over the sand dunes. Note: Camel ride is optional (supplement applies).
Travel on to Matmata where you descend into ancient troglodyte homes carved into the earth, some immortalised in Star Wars as Luke Skywalker’s home and here meet a Berber family. Lunch is in a traditional troglodyte home. In the afternoon, explore two ancient ksours (fortified villages) in Tataouine before heading to Djerba Island. Dinner at leisure.

Day 6: Djerba - Monastir (BL)

This morning, discover the charms of Djerba, with its palm groves, whitewashed villages, and colourful markets. Visit Houmt Souk, the island’s lively capital, before lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the sea or within the old town. In the afternoon, travel north to Monastir. Dinner at leisure.

Day 7: El Jem - Sousse - Monastir (BL)

Step into the colossal El Jem Coliseum (UNESCO), where echoes of ancient gladiators still seem to stir in the air. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Medina of Sousse, exploring its narrow streets and the celebrated mosaics of its Archaeological Museum.
Lunch is served at a coastal or marina-side restaurant before visiting the Monastir Ribat, an impressive seaside fortress. Overnight in Monastir.
