Begin your exploration of Hanoi around West Lake (Tay Ho), a more tranquil side of the capital known for its leafy streets, embassies, stylish cafés and relaxed lakeside atmosphere.
Continue to Tran Quoc Pagoda, dramatically situated on a small peninsula extending into West Lake. Dating back to the early 10th century, it is regarded as one of Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist pagodas.
Your sightseeing continues with an exterior visit to the imposing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, followed by the elegant One-Pillar Pagoda, one of Hanoi’s most recognisable architectural landmarks.
Later, pause for Vietnamese coffee at Manzi, a creative space housed within a beautifully restored colonial building and known for its exhibitions and contemporary arts scene.
This evening, immerse yourself in the flavours and atmosphere of Hanoi’s Old Quarter on a guided street-food experience. Wander through the lively streets while sampling local favourites such as banh cuon – delicate steamed rice rolls – and banh mi, Vietnam’s famous filled baguette. Stop at a traditional bia hoi establishment to sample freshly brewed Vietnamese beer before continuing to a local pho restaurant, where you can choose between classic pho or pho tron, a dry noodle version.
Finish the evening with a stroll beside Hoan Kiem Lake and a taste of one of Hanoi’s much-loved ice creams before bidding farewell to your guide. The remainder of the evening is yours to explore Hanoi independently.

After breakfast, depart Hanoi at approximately 8:30am for Tuan Chau Pier, travelling by private vehicle without a guide. Arrive around midday and board your cruise through the spectacular landscapes of Lan Ha Bay. Following a welcome drink and safety briefing, settle into your cabin as the vessel begins its journey through a maze of towering limestone karsts, forested islands and emerald waters. Lunch is served on board as the extraordinary scenery unfolds around you.
Later, reach Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island, a peaceful community tucked within the island’s lush interior. Explore the village and surrounding countryside by bicycle, with an electric vehicle available for those who prefer a more relaxed experience. Return to the boat in time for a Vietnamese cooking demonstration or perhaps a cocktail as the sun begins to set over the bay. Dinner is served on board, surrounded by the tranquil scenery of Lan Ha Bay.

Rise early, depending on the season, for the opportunity to witness sunrise over the tranquil waters of the bay. Continue cruising before disembarking late morning.
