Connect with Amazing Race scenes filmed in Zambia with The Safari Company

The Safari Company’s founder Andy Kibby says that last weeks Amazing Race filmed in Zambia captured some of the incredible sights and experiences around Victoria Falls. Kiwi born/African based Kibby personally hosts small group African safaris from May to October. His Southern Explorer Safari departing on 02 May 2021, will provide many opportunities for clients to have similar experiences to the Amazing Race contestants, albeit a little more relaxed!

The 24 day Safari, which starts and ends in Livingstone, Victoria Falls, includes highlights from Zambia, Namibia and Botswana. Kibby sees that his small group safaris with a maximum of 18 guests will have appeal to the kiwi market for 2021. Our clients are mostly New Zealanders in the 45+ age group.

The Elephant Café featured in last week’s Amazing Race is accessed from the hotel where our safari stays, via jet boat up the Zambezi River and is rated Zambia’s top restaurant. Clients will have an opportunity to see the rescue work in person before visiting the Elephant Café which has one of the most unique locations in Africa.

The Makuni Village where Amazing Race participants were welcomed is also near the Victoria Falls and available as an optional visit.

Other highlights on this 24 day safari include a sunset cruise on the Upper Zambezi River, the world renowned Etosha National Park, Twyfelfontein 6,000 year old rock engravings, Cape Cross Seal Reserve, the Namib Desert Park giant sand dunes, the waterways of the Okavango Delta, and a boat cruise in the Chobe National Park.

MD of Innovative Travel, Robyn Galloway, says travelling through Africa with Kibby, is a true privilege. His 30 year experience of living and working in Africa is evident at every turn. His local networks are incredible with each safari including a visit to local projects or schools which he supports at a very practical grass roots level. The Safari Company’s high wheel base safari trucks are adapted to provide spacious and comfortable viewing. Kibby will always take you somewhere special where there is literally no one else around. It is amazing to meet some of the locals who obviously hold him in high regard. When people ask me is Africa safe, my response is travel with Kibby always feels safe.

Galloway says the May 2020 safari was postponed to 2021 so there are just a few spaces left for the departure on 02 May 2021. Now is the time to encourage clients to book on a truly unique adventure. For more information visit our safari holidays page.
