Day 1: Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where our representative will meet you. After assistance, you'll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. At leisure for the rest of the day.

Situated along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa's most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place to be. There are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably, just 20 minutes from the city centre, wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru (BLD) 

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp/lodge. After lunch, embark on a thrilling game drive before heading back for overnight stay.

Nakuru is a fascinating city on the shores of western Kenya’s Lake Nakuru. The capital of Nakuru County located in the Great Rift Valley, about ten kilometres from the massive Menengai Crater. A hiking trail leads up to the rim of this ancient caldera, offering bird’s eye views over the lake and surrounds, and then plunges 400 metres down to the floor below, where visitors can walk among ancient forests. Lake Nakuru National Park, surrounding Nakuru, is home to exceptional birdlife, as well as over 50 varieties of mammals including lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, rhino, antelope and various primates. History and culture enthusiasts should make sure to visit the incredible Hyrax Hill prehistoric site.

Situated in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, around 90 kilometres north-west of Nairobi, Naivasha is a lively town that serves as the gateway to Lake Naivasha, one of the country's most important freshwater lakes. The surrounding Lake Naivasha basin is a popular base for exploring volcanic landscapes, nature reserves and national parks. Visitors can take boat trips across the water to spot hippos and a wide variety of birdlife, walk among free-roaming giraffes, zebras and antelope on Crescent Island, or explore the dramatic gorges and cliffs of Hell’s Gate National Park on foot or by bicycle. Surrounded by acacia woodland and Rift Valley escarpments, the region offers a distinctive blend of outdoor adventure, wildlife encounters and natural beauty.

Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snow-cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the city of Arusha is known as the gateway to northern Tanzania's safari circuit. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding region, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Thanks to its elevation, Arusha enjoys a pleasant climate with moderate temperatures throughout the year.

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater Conservancy and arrive in time for lunch at your lodge nestled high on the jagged rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. This afternoon, take in the ambience of the lodge, follow a gentle nature trail, take a guided walk to the Crater's rim, or simply relax with a herbal massage as the sun sets behind the mountains.  
 
Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife and conservation destinations. Established in 1959, it is a unique protected area where wildlife coexists with the semi-nomadic Maasai people who continue their traditional way of life. The area is best known for the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, which supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. Nestled high on the jagged rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and shrouded in mist, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is a stunning example of ecological and architectural harmony.
