Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s dynamic southern metropolis. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle in and begin discovering the atmosphere of this fascinating city.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Today explore the fascinating history and contrasts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Travel to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an extraordinary underground network originally created during the French Indochina War and later expanded during the Vietnam War. Discover the tunnels, underground rooms, kitchens and meeting areas that reveal the resilience and ingenuity of those who lived and worked here. Return to the city to visit some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic landmarks, including the historic Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and Dong Khoi Street, known for its elegant colonial architecture and grand hotels.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Hue (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to begin exploring this atmospheric city, located along the tranquil Perfume River.
Day 4: Hue (B)
Discover the imperial heritage of Hue, once the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors.
Visit the magnificent Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before continuing to the elegant Tu Duc Mausoleum, considered one of Vietnam’s finest examples of royal architecture. Continue to Tu Hieu Pagoda, a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by pine forests and home to an active monastic community.
Day 5: Hue – Hoi An (B)
Depart Hue and travel towards Hoi An via the spectacular Hai Van Pass, one of Vietnam’s most scenic coastal routes. Enjoy sweeping views over mountains, beaches and the South China Sea.
Continue with a visit to the Cham Museum in Danang before arriving in Hoi An, a beautifully preserved trading port renowned for its colourful lanterns, historic buildings and timeless charm.
Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient Town of Hoi An on a guided walking tour.
Wander through narrow streets lined with centuries-old merchant houses and discover the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Hall, Tan Ky Ancient House and local markets. The town’s unique character reflects centuries of cultural exchange between Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and European communities. The remainder of the day is free to explore at your own pace.
Day 7: Hoi An – Danang – Hanoi (B)
Transfer to Danang Airport for your flight to Hanoi, Vietnam’s elegant capital city.
Discover Hanoi’s historic highlights, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum area, his traditional stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Ethnology Museum, showcasing the traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, before exploring the atmospheric Old Quarter and the surroundings of Hoan Kiem Lake.
Day 8: Hanoi – Lan Ha Bay (BLD)
Depart Hanoi and travel to Lan Ha Bay, a spectacular and quieter extension of Halong Bay.
Board your overnight cruise and sail among dramatic limestone karsts rising from emerald waters. Admire the ever-changing scenery of secluded islands, hidden coves and traditional fishing villages while onboard activities and meals are provided.
