Journey back into the time of Homer with this itinerary taking in some of the most famous sites of classical history and legend. See where the Olympic Games were founded and held for over 12 centuries and consult the famed Oracle of Delphi - all in an easy three-day journey.

Day 1: Athens – Olympia (D)

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a three day tour to some of Greece's wonderful classical sights.

Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on and visit the Theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nafplion (short photo stop), before continuing on to Mycenae where you will visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games.

Day 2: Olympia – Delphi (BD)

This morning visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Drive on through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea before arriving in Delphi. Overnight Delphi.

Day 3: Delphi – Athens (B)

After breakfast visit the archaeological site of Delphi. The oracle of Delphi was visited by royalty, heroes, and common people who desired answers or a glimpse of their future. Alexander the Great his father Philip, Socrates, the Athenians, and Spartans have all sought the advice of the Oracle, the City Treasuries, the delicate 5th Century statue of the Charioteer, and other priceless art treasures discovered nearby. Depart Delphi and drive through the village of Arachova renowned for its colorful rugs and carpets. Continue back to Athens via Levadia and Thebes. You will arrive in Athens around 7.00pm to continue with your own arrangements.

Climate Resilience Tax
The Greek government have established a climate resilience tax for all tourists staying in any kind of Hotel, Apartment, Villa, etc. in any destination in Greece. This tax is applied locally and is payable directly by guests at check-in. The tax is a fixed Euro amount and ranges from EUR3 to EUR10 per room per night, depending on the hotel category.
 
Double Beds
A double bedded room can be requested but cannot be guaranteed. In Greece double rooms are very limited. Please ask on check-in with the hotel/cruise boat to see what is available.

 

Greece Mainland Coach Tours
Scheduled tours and sightseeing are bilingual unless specified. Wifi may be available on full day tours to Delphi, Argolis and all multi day tours. Many sightseeing tours require a moderate amount of walking around historical / cultural sites therefore a good level of fitness will ensure you get a maximum enjoyment from your visit.

Dress Code for Monasteries of Meteora
Women are required to wear a long skirt and cover their shoulders. Men must wear long pants. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed.
