Day 1: Dublin (D)
Arrive at Dublin Airport. Transfer to your Dublin hotel under own arrangements. Please be at your hotel by 5pm. Your hotel is in walking distance of the city centre. Time free to explore the city at your leisure this afternoon. This evening meet your fellow travellers in a welcome dinner at your hotel. Overnight: Dublin
Day 2: Blarney Castle and Kerry (B)
Today meet with your driver and English-speaking tour guide and depart Ireland’s Capital traveling to County Kerry. En route, stop in the town of Blarney to visit Blarney Castle built in 1446 the castle is famous for its Blarney Stone, the Stone of Eloquence, kiss it & you’ll never again be lost for words. Continue to the Woollen Mills which shielded Blarney from the worst effects of the famine, with employment of local workers. In 1976 Chris Kelleher, himself a mill worker, bought the old mill property. Within a short period of time Chris and his family transformed the mill into what is perhaps the largest quality craft shop in Ireland, time for shopping here. Continue to Kerry for a two-night stay. Overnight: Kerry
Day 3: Ring of Kerry (B)
Today experience a superb tour of the Iveragh Peninsula also known as the Ring of Kerry. Taking in spectacular scenery such as mountains, peat, bogs, lakes and magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Along the Ring of Kerry stop at a local farm for a sheepdog demonstration.
Continue to Killarney National Park and take transportation of a different kind! A pony and trap (also known as a Jaunting Car), as you discover areas of Killarney National Park. Tonight, perhaps visit a local restaurant or pub in Killarney. Overnight: Kerry
Day 4: Burren and Cliffs of Moher (B)
Travel northwards to Tarbert and take a short boat ride across the mouth of the River Shannon to land on Clare’s shore at Killimer. Travel along the coast to the Cliffs of Moher, the most majestic cliffs in Ireland which rise from the Atlantic Ocean & extend for over 7km. On a clear day, the Aran Islands & Connemara Mountains are visible.
Take a tour of the Burren Region, which is a strange and unique region in Europe; it is a high plateau of porous limestone situated in Northern Clare. Overnight: Limerick
Day 5: Galway City and Cruise (BD)
Today, travel to Galway City, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations, and events. Stroll down Shop Street – a charming pedestrianised street which is the cultural heartbeat of Galway City. The main squares in the city are Eyre Square (containing John F. Kennedy Park) and the Spanish Parade next to the Spanish Arch. Visit Galway Cathedral, one of the largest and most impressive buildings in Galway built between 1958 and 1965. Later, enjoy a cruise along Lough Corrib, including scones and an Irish coffee. This journey on the Corrib Princess takes you along the majestic Lough Corrib and onto the lake. Cruise past historic monuments and natural wonders, that make this one of the most spectacular waterways in Ireland. Overnight Galway. Dinner is included at your hotel this evening.
Day 6: Connemara (B)
Today travel through the beautiful Connemara Region filled with lakes, rivers, bogs and mountains. A land of small villages where Gaelic is still the spoken language, and little has changed since the beginning of time.
Visit Kylemore Abbey, built in 1868 by Mitchell Henry, and see its most famous feature the miniature Cathedral. It has been home to the Irish order of Benedictine nuns since 1920. Next you will visit Dan O'Hara's homestead. The Centre offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of this most beautiful part of Connemara and the West of Ireland. Tea and scones will be served during your visit. Overnight: Galway
Day 7: Dublin's Fair City (B)
Depart Galway for Dublin today. On arrival, explore the north side of the city which offers striking monuments such as the GPO (General Post Office) on O’Connell Street and Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe. The city’s south side appears more sophisticated with its vast Georgian squares and is home to Trinity College, Dublin Castle and two Anglican Cathedrals. Visit EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. This is a state-of-the-art interactive experience located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 Custom House Quarter building in Dublin’s Docklands, the original departure point for so many of Ireland’s emigrants. Overnight: Dublin
Day 8: Dublin (B)
After a final Irish breakfast, transfer to Dublin Airport for your departure flight home under own arrangements.
