This tour encompasses the best of Jordan's treasures, including visits to Jerash and Ajloun Castle, a scenic drive along the Kings Way, taking in Madaba, Mount Nebo, the picturesque Wadi Mujib, and the imposing Kerak Crusader Castle. Immerse yourself in the splendour of Petra, the Rose Red City, and venture into the enchanting Wadi Rum Desert, with its surreal landscape.

Itinerary

Day 1: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Amman

Welcome to Jordan. Upon arrival at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative, PRIOR to immigration, who will assist you with arrival formalities including your pre-arranged visa. You will then be transferred to join your tour in Amman. Drive to Jerash, the best-preserved city of Roman times, to visit its theatres, temples, churches, and colonnaded streets. Then continue to Ajloun to tour the 12th century Saracen Castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants in the campaign against the Crusaders. Return to Amman for overnight.

Day 2: Amman – Petra (B)

Drive southwards along the Kings’ Way to Petra, visiting Madaba with the oldest map of the Holy Land, and its Mosaic School, Mt. Nebo and the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley; then drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib to Kerak to visit the Crusader Castle (stop for lunch - optional own expense). Continue to Petra where accommodation has been reserved for the following two nights.

Day 3: Petra (B)

A full day to visit the many sites of Petra, this city that was carved into the rose-red Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans and lost to Civilization until re-discovered by the Swiss Burkhardt. Walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Roman Theatre, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, Temple of the Winged Lion, and other monuments. A break for lunch (optional – own expense) or you may wish to climb up to the Monastery.

Day 4: Petra – Wadi Rum – Aqaba (B)

Visit the Wadi Rum Desert (a short ride in 4x4 vehicle) with its awesome moon-like landscape, where the movie “Lawrence of Arabia” was filmed. Continue to Aqaba for a day or two at the beach (optional extensions available – supplement applies). Alternatively, you may choose to return to Amman.
